Does the TMO/members have any preferences for when to start using 1515 rail buttons?  Working on a 10 lb rocket.  Currently assuming 1010 buttons will be fine.

I have been using 1010 buttons on a 10 1/2 lb rocket for quite a while with no issues. The way the rails are set up back to back now, going to 1515 buttons doesn’t mean a walk to the far pads, so either should be ok. I don’t know if theres a rule of thumb for going from 1010 to 1515 buttons, but I’m sure one of our more experienced flyers would know.

My personal guideline is based more on airframe diameter & motor size, and not rocket weight. A 4 inch diameter rocket with an M class motor is about my limit for 1010 rails. As previously mentioned, the new back-to-back rail mounting will not automatically send to the away cell.
